Design Story

The distance read is the mug itself — a soft, sculpted-looking ghost silhouette with a wavy lower edge and gently draped sides that break the standard cylinder. At medium range the face reads as three glossy black marks: two oval eyes and a rounded open mouth, spaced high on the front-facing focal area. The bat sits beneath them as the true visual anchor, wings spread wide across the mug body, its raised-looking outline catching light along the ridges. Two tiny white dots on the bat's head keep it playful rather than menacing. Colour is limited to white and black only, so the tonal contrast does all the work. The graphic stops well before the handle-side boundary, leaving clean negative space at the rim and toward the base.
