Design Story

The largest element is the typography: "for a special friend." set in a spaced, slightly imperfect typewriter face, with "with love at Christmas" and a personalised italic signature stacked neatly beneath it. Below sits the visual anchor — a deep green tree rendered in soft, feathery brushwork, scattered with white baubles, two red mittens and a candy cane. Beneath the branches, two red boots and bare legs turn a Christmas tree into a character. Faint dotted snowfall drifts across the pale body, filling the negative space without crowding it.

Use & Styling

The composition sits high and centred on the front-facing focal area, with the text band at the upper third and the tree occupying the visible mid-body. Both motifs stop well before the handle-side boundary, leaving generous white space around the rim and base. On a table or open shelf it reads as a soft seasonal accent rather than a loud statement, legible from across the room thanks to the dark text against the pale mug body.
